Damage & Guest Responsibility Policy

At Alvia Suites Corfu, we take great pride in maintaining our suites, furnishings, facilities, and outdoor areas to the highest standards for every guest. We kindly ask all guests to treat the property with the same care and respect they would their own home.

Guest Responsibility

Guests are fully responsible for any damage, loss, or excessive cleaning requirements resulting from their actions, negligence, or misuse during their stay, including damage caused by accompanying visitors, children, or pets where applicable.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Broken furniture, fixtures, appliances, or decorative items.

Damaged windows, mosquito screens, doors, locks, or glass.

Damage caused by improper use of equipment or facilities.

Permanent stains or burns on linens, towels, mattresses, upholstery, curtains, or carpets.

Missing or damaged room inventory.

Excessive dirt or cleaning beyond normal housekeeping.

Damage to outdoor furniture, balconies, pool areas, gardens, or shared facilities.

Damage resulting from failure to follow the property's instructions or safety notices.

Accidents

We understand that genuine accidents can happen.

If something is accidentally damaged during your stay, we kindly ask you to inform Reception immediately. Prompt reporting allows us to arrange repairs quickly and often helps minimise repair costs.

Failure to report damage before departure may result in additional administrative charges where applicable.

Damage Assessment

Whenever damage is identified, the property reserves the right to:

Inspect the affected area.

Obtain professional repair or replacement quotations.

Document the damage with photographs and inspection reports.

Determine whether repair or replacement is required.

Guests may be asked to cover:

Repair costs.

Replacement costs where repair is not possible.

Professional cleaning costs.

Labour or technician call-out charges.

Any loss of revenue if a suite cannot be sold due to the damage.

Normal Wear and Tear

Guests are not responsible for ordinary wear and tear resulting from normal use of the accommodation.

Payment of Damage Charges

Damage charges will reflect the actual cost of repair or replacement and will never exceed the documented amount incurred by the property.

The property reserves the right to:

Charge the payment card provided for the reservation where permitted by the booking terms.

Request payment before departure.

Recover costs through the relevant booking platform or legal procedures if necessary.

Supporting documentation, including photographs, technician reports, invoices, or receipts, may be provided upon request.

Lost or Missing Items

Guests are responsible for the replacement cost of any missing room items, keys, access cards, remote controls, or other hotel property not returned upon departure.

Misuse of Hotel Equipment

Guests are expected to use all appliances and facilities according to the provided instructions. Damage resulting from misuse—including washing machines, air-conditioning units, kitchen appliances, plumbing fixtures, or other equipment—will be charged to the responsible guest.

Cooperation

Our goal is always to resolve any damage matter fairly, transparently, and professionally. We appreciate guests who report accidental incidents honestly, allowing us to maintain the exceptional standards expected by all future visitors.
